The product that results from these chemical changes is honey which is put into the honeycombs to ripen.

Why do we see rainbows after it rains ?

You need few things to see a rainbow. The main thin is rain, you need that rain to be in illuminated by bright sunshine, and you need to be in a position that the rain lies on the circle 42 degrees around the shadow of your head. So if you get rain from a shower that moves in the direction away from the sun relative to you then you have a good chance of  seeing a rainbow. You are most likely to see rainbows on days with scattered shower or storms than on dull overcast rain days.

What causes us to hiccup ?

A hiccup is an involuntary spasm of the diaphragm, typically this repeats several times a minutes. The sudden rush of air into the lungs causes the epiglottis to close, creating the "hic" listen noise. About of hiccups  generally resolves itself without intervention, although many home remedies are in circulation that claims to shorten the duration and medication is occasionally  necessary.By the extension, the term "hiccup" is also used to describe a small and unrepeated aberration  in an otherwise consistent pattern.
The medication term is singultus. While many cases develop spontaneously, such as eating too quickly, taking a cold drink while eating a hot meal, eating a very hot or spicy food, laughing vigorously or coughing, drinking an alcoholic beverage to excess, crying out loud "sub-in causes air to enter the stomach" some smoking situation where abnormal inhalation can occur (In tobacco or other smoke like cannabis, perhaps triggered by precursors to coughing, or in the case of cannabis by precursors laughter", or electrolyte imbalance. Hiccups may be caused by pressure to the phrenic nerve by other anatomical structures, or rarely by tumors and certain kidney disease.

Why do dogs chase cats?

Dogs chase cats because they are natural predators. That is, before their domestication took place about ten thousand years ago, canines were acting upon survival instincts to chase and catch smallest creatures to eat. The survival instincts are also known as the “prey drive” While prey drive can be modified by training, the natural instinct that makes dogs chase cats is still triggered by government
When you throw a chew toy for your pet puppy, the puppy is essentially sent into cruise control mode when it rushes to chase, catch, and thrash the toy about in its mouth in order to kill its toy. This is because dogs are naturally natural programmed to chase moving animals. Similarly, dogs chase cats because the cat is moving around the household and in doing so, triggers the dog’s prey drive. This is dangerous for pet owners though, because some medium to large sized dogs can potentially kill cats if they catch them. Most of the time however, well fed dogs chase cats for the fun of it, although rough play can cause injuries to both animals. Through selective breeding, people have been able to modify the pre drive, in order to breed dogs for performing certain function. For example, border collies have been bred to herd sheep instead of mauling them in response to their movement. In dogs used by police to sniff out narcotics, the prey drive has been redirected toward objects instead of animals. The success of a catch and kill for dogs gives them and adrenaline high, reinforcing the behavior. Thus, to retrain the “dogs chase cats” instinct requires a massive investment of time, dedication and management techniques.

Why do many birds stand on one leg?

Bird’s legs have an adaptation called “rete mirabile” that minimized heat loss. The arteries that transport warm blood into the legs lie in contact with the veins that return colder blood to the birds heart. The arteries warm the veins.  By standing on one leg, a bird reduces by half of the amount of heat lost through unfettered limbs. Birds also purposely create their own shadows in the water. Apparently egrets can blend better with their surroundings and look like a shrub to a fish by standing on one legs. The word “pedigree” which is ones family tree, comes from the French “Pied de grue” Cranes foot. This is something represented artistically as a tree with exposed surface roots or even a birds foot in old ancestral diagrams. Take a close look at the egrets leg  and feet if you ever get the chance. The tough skin really does makes them look like tree trunks,  and undoubtedly fools fishes seeking a bit of shade for cover too.

Why do ants walk in a straight line ?

Ants walk in straight line is because ant leave a chemical trail for other ants to follow. They are following a trail laid out by another ant that will take them to food, water or their home. Ants leave this trail of pheromone or scent as they travel. After finding food they return to the nest following their own scent trail and communicate this fact to other ants who then follow then scent trail to the food. As more ants travel the trail scent gets more stronger easier to follow. And then random bumps are smoothed out making the trail straighter.

Why do pregnant women crave pickles ?

A recent study introduced related to pregnancy food cravings found that almost 40% of pregnant women list something sweet as their number 1 pregnancy food craving. Trailing at the second position, "salty food" was craved by nearly 33% of women during the pregnancy, while spicy food was following at 17% and sour or tart food like green apples and citrus fruits coming in 4th as 10% of pregnant women's favorite snack.
Food cravings are a common feature of pregnancy symptoms; however, the reasons behind these pregnancy urges are still not well understood. Some believe that these cravings are meant to indicate a nutritional deficiency in the expectant mother's diet. But this does not explain the strange "pica" cravings and unexpected preference for foods that actually have low levels of nutrition. A craving for pickles indicates low sodium levels in the blood. A way to deal with such cravings is to substitute them with healthy alternatives, for instance, popcorn sprinkled with herb blends or sesame bread sticks with a spicy mustard dip. Once possible explanation for a craving like pickles and ice cream is simply that the woman's body is in search of specific nutrients. Many midwives are of the opinion that pregnancy cravings indicate a sort of vitamin or mineral deficiency, and that the body is trying to make up for such deficiencies by making the foods with the needed nutrition seem particularly appealing. Pregnant women often develop  dehydration and electrolyte deficiencies which the brain translate into cravings for salty foods, in order to help them receive electrolyte and retain water. Craving pickles wrapped in cheese and exclusively craving a single food like pickles onions is also common. Frequently, women report having cravings for food that they never ate on a regular basis prior to pregnancy; in the same way, many women ever experience an aversion to the same craved for items after the birth of their baby.

How does the human eye see color ?

The retinas in the eyes have receptors for color called cones (also known as cone cells). You have on that measures the amount of red light, another measures green light, and the third measures light intensity. Your Occipital lobes in your brain actually process this information as color by reducing the amount of blue light from the other three factors. The cone cells measure red light, green light or blue light. Other cell called Rod cells measures intensity. Humans have full tricolor vision, not bicolor. Most other mammals have only bicolor vision. Cone cells measures Yellow light or Blue light. Rod cells measures intensity. Birds have Quadcolor vision: Cone cells measures Red light, Green light, Blue light or Ultraviolet light. Rod cells measures intensity.

Why is cloud white ?

Cloud is a visible accumulation of very tiny water droplets or solid ice crystals that float in the air (troposphere). Clouds are usually white in appearance due to the fact that in reflects (scatter) all the visible wavelengths of lights from the sun. The suns light is made up of different colors (rainbow colors )that appear as a white light when combined. These color can be demonstrated using a prism that scatters the suns light (white light ).The water droplets or ice crystals that make up the cloud reflect all the light of the seven visible wave lengths (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet) all together without dispersing each color. Thus, clouds are white because they effectively reflect the wave lengths of visible light spectrum of the sun (called Mie scattering)  in all direction more or less equally.

Why is the sky blue ?

To explain why is the sky is blue we still need to take a quick look at the sun and the atmosphere in understanding the role they play in the sky appearing blue. Light from the sun (sunlight) is composed of seven colors (rainbow colors) of different wavelength that blend perfectly to make the suns light white in appearance. This light from the sun is called white light. The different colors in sunlight (white light)can be seen by passing sunlight through a prism.
